Minimalist art print of an original painting made with artist's fingerprints
The Hidden Identity Series highlights issues around data protection. Created with the artist's fingerprints in black gouache. The impressions on the paper are in regimented patterns.
A note from the artist
"Our patterns are predicted. Our data is sold. The algorithm predicts our next finger impression. We follow the same paths to the same destinations, creativity is minimised, life is homogenous, robotic, monotonous. In order to protect ourselves, we must clean and disinfect our fingerprints, but they are never erased from the database. So, are we really protected?"
There is very little ink used in the Hidden Identity Series of paintings. The black dots are printed on natural warm-toned bamboo paper which makes a beautiful, natural background without the need for extra ink. This makes the series very sustainable.
