Original 'Tilak Bowl' Painting
Inspired by moments in India. Visuals of tilak adorning the foreheads of Hindu worshippers. The meditative sound of a singing bowl.
The corrugated cardboard is emulating human skin. Gouache is painted on it which allows the wrinkles of the paper to be seen, in the same way that tilak paste on foreheads allows the creases in skin to be seen. The cardboard is pierced in places, like ear lobes or nostrils.
