Three Windows In Jaipur Original

Three simple but beautifully designed and perfectly positioned windows inspired this new print. I saw them on a hotel building in Jaipur, India. I find it difficult to put into words why I find the simplest things in India so wonderful. But I think I’m beginning to realise it’s because nothing in India is made without meaning. So, although I may not know the meaning immediately, I can feel that there’s more than the surface beauty to everyday items. I used turmeric as a way to stain the paper, inspired by lots of Indian crafts that use turmeric to dye string, fabric and paper. The plant powder has added texture and an intense yellow hue to the paper.
