One-off original gouache painting of an Adriatic seascape in Jelsa, Croatia
I painted this when I was living in Croatia. Whilst I was there I visited Jelsa, a rustic village on the island of Hvar. My painting was created late afternoon over a few days, I sat on the large rocks with my paints and brushes overlooking the Adriatic Sea where locals came to sunbathe. Every day I met a mature lady amongst the sunbathers. She wore an oversized sun hat and red lipstick with her swimsuit. We couldn't communicate in any common language but she'd come and admire this painting every day by giving me the thumbs up.
Original signed painting. Gouache on heavyweight art paper. 148 x 210mm. Unframed. ~
